Hands down the best care my daughter has ever received and they’ve been so helpful to me with getting resources I need to better our lives. If I could I would give this hospital a million stars. Also gave very detailed description of what they were doing with my daughter and gave very detailed answers to my questions. If one doctor or nurse couldn’t answer the question they got someone that could answer the question. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team to take care of my daughter when she needed it.
We came with my newborn for an ER trip and they quickly prioritized him and got us into a room. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and the doctors and very communicative. They did a thorough job testing my baby to find out what was causing his sickness, and when we got admitted for the night the nurses were so hospitable and accommodating. Even offering to get me drinks or to hold my baby if I needed a break to get out of the room. The hospital facility is very clean and comfortable, and it is a beautiful building and grounds.
Me and my fiancé took our 2 year old son Westin to see doctor Gordon to have a piece of a Christmas ornament removed from our child’s hand as he got a piece of the ornament broken off stuck into his hand. Initially I was very worried for my son but the team at Dayton Childrens made me very comfortable and relaxed as they went through everything they would do in terms of the procedure and Anesthesia. I want to give a big thanks to all the staff and RN’s that helped us feel way more comfortable as this was the first time one of our children had to have a surgery. Thank you Dayton Children’s for being such a huge help and a top notch organization from top to bottom with a clean facility, amazing cafeteria, and making me feel comfortable through the whole process with our son. These people change lives and we should pray and thank god for all the advances we have found through the medical field. Thank you Dayton Children’s!
the nurses were terrific!! But a PRIVATE ... cozy , dim and calm room for recovery after surgeries would be especially beneficial for the patients . My 10 mos old Grandchild was in a thin curtain triage for his recovery . A private room would have been much better. He's a baby , so coming off anesthesia he was uncomfortable and crying plus getting the monitor stickers peeled off and IV taken out didn't help. We were hurried out of there and we shouldn't of been . Aside from the fact that surgery is so expensive even with insurance , they're no fun for anyone , especially babies and kids. so, CHILDREN'S , DO BETTER FOR YOUR PATIENTS!!
Absolutely worthless doctors. We've had two really bad experiences here in the last year and a half. We will not be taking our children back here again. Both times after leaving there we took our kids Wayne Hospital in Greenville and received better care. That says a lot. We used to love Dayton children's and trusted them with our children, but no more. Doctors speak to you like you're stupid. And don't care. Never again!!

My daughter broke her foot, the only thing I was unhappy about was the wait time to get in to confirm her break. My local hospital told me to meet with someone as soon as possible and I had to wait a full week… they recommended a few days at most. But I get doctors are busy and aren’t able to get you in right away all the time. My actual nurse and ortho provider, (Morgan and Craig Shank) were incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. They didn’t have to re-xray her and actually confirmed it was broke in a different spot than the original hospital told me. My daughter was a bit nervous as she’s only 3 and Morgan was incredibly sweet and considerate with her. I really like his hospital and will continue to optimize care at this facility.
The medical professionals at Dayton Children's do an exemplary job. The evaluations are thorough. Everyone seems professional and friendly.
I was surprised to find that there are few food options in house in the evening and the vending machines offer little of nutritional value. The area outside the emergency room might be a bit intimidating; a seemingly angry adult was yelling obscenities into his cell phone outside the ER entrance.
Comparing this visit to other children's hospital experiences I have had....the people do a great job. They all seem dedicated to the mission. I am also of the impression that the hospital has improved significantly compared to earlier experiences there.
